Victory in the Heart of the Home

The 2nd world war had a huge impact on the kitchens and stomachs of millions of British people. Imports were essential as an island nation but the sea became a battleground as ships were targeted carrying vital consignments. A fierce moral imperative was placed on the population not to waste food as sailors lives had been risked to ensure food arrived safely...I’ll be sharing stories and recipes from that time together with images from advertising from that time.

Food is a munition of war - dont waste it!
